The manufacturing marketing firm of TR Cutler, Inc. survey 457 Food manufacturers and less than 31% have independent spot testing of their food safety practice, procedures,and product.

TR Cutler, CEO, said, "Those companies that hire outside independent QA (quality assurance) auditors are significantly improving their procedures and eliminating the possibility of public safety damages and litigation."

Cutler also noted, "Only a handful of independent QA Specialists are properly trained to conduct the proper food science procedures, with more than 40 such companies also interviewed as an adjunct to the survey. We only found a half dozen that completed the full battery of required tests to ensure food safety."
