CONSHOHOCKEN, PA (PRWEB) July 28, 2003 -- ALTERION, a leader in independent testing, quality assurance and Independent Verification and Validation Services (IV&V) announced today an award for follow-on tasks for additional testing of the US Department of Justice Joint Automated Booking System program (JABS). Under the contract Alterion will again conduct performance testing on the current JABS system to help the Departments team ensure that JABS will be able to absorb the expected increase in usage as JABS is further deployed throughout the various Department of Justice agencies.
The Joint Automated Booking System (JABS) is a DOJ initiative to develop a nationwide automated booking system. A primary goal is to streamline the identification and processing of federal offenders throughout the criminal justice system. JABS provides the means to electronically collect, store, and transmit photographic, fingerprint, and biographical data on offenders when they are booked. It is intended to minimize the processing time for booking an offender, eliminate redundant data collection, provide accurate information in a timely manner, and facilitate information sharing among federal law enforcement entities. Participants in the JABS project include the BoP, DEA, FBI, INS, USMS, EOUSA, and JMD.
Alterion has once again proved its capacity planning services help ensure that its clients can prepare for their anticipated demands and make the necessary modifications to meet those demands. Alterion is again proud to assist the DOJ JABS team in creating an information-sharing infrastructure among the five law enforcement agencies (Federal Bureau of Prisons, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the FBI, the Immigration and Naturalization Service and the U.S. Marshals Service) and assist in Homeland Security" stated Edward McLaughlin, President.
