The Roosevelt Alumni Association, Inc. exists to promote the welfare of the Roosevelt school district and community by:

-Providing a forum so that Roosevelt alumni may establish new relationships and continue existing ones.

-Encouraging the alumnus/alumna to assume involvement in the progress of Roosevelt school district and community.

Tony Lee, a 1984 graduate of Roosevelt High School who now resides in Atlanta says, I read the LI Newsday daily to see what's happening on Long Island, especially in Roosevelt. After reading what's been taking place in Roosevelt, this could be part of the positive light needed to help Roosevelt shine. I think this is great!"

At the picnic, alumni will be able meet new alumni, strengthen old relationships, and join the Roosevelt Alumni Association, Inc. as a way to give back. Proceeds from the membership drive will go to support alumni, school and community programs. Todd Schelgal, Roosevelt Middle Senior High School faculty and organizer of the event, says of the picnic, It [the picnic] shows how well everybody is doing in Roosevelt--how much love there is. Everyone gets a chance to meet old friends and be happy. These people are my heroes. It doesnt matter whether you work in the park or if you are a doctor."

Rob Dixon, a 1989 graduate of Roosevelt Middle Senior High School and co-founder knows that starting an alumni association is a huge undertaking. We all have a lot of growing to do. I think we should have fun with this growth process. I also see in the same instance, that this is serious business and requires a certain level of maturity to see it through over a long period of time. I don't expect it to be easy." When commenting on what the alumni association seeks to accomplish, he commented, "to use our talents to help improve our school and community. Everyone should do their part."
