Nonprofit Communications with Media Just Got Easier

Internet Portal for Nonprofits Announces New Free Tool for Nonprofits. New Media Guide helps charities take a giant leap forward in communicating with media.

Worcester, MA (PRWEB) July 29, 2003 -- For nonprofit organizations it's been an uphill battle trying to communicate with the media. Locating contact information, even basic stuff like addresses or fax numbers for media outlets was nearly impossible absent an appropriate resource to find information for all newspapers in their area. Collecting this information from multiple sources proved to be a time consuming task.

Organizations that opted to pay for such a service from for-profit companies quickly learned it to be an expensive process every time they wanted to send out a press release.

They now have another option.

MyNoodle, the Internet portal for nonprofit news, information and resources announced today the launch of their new Media Guide for nonprofits.

The Media Guide is a FREE service for the nonprofit sector, intended to provide nonprofit organizations with the tools and resources to send press releases and information to news agencies without having to invest a lot of money or time.

It contains over 10,000 listings of newspapers throughout the United States with their addresses, telephone numbers, fax numbers and web site links.

Users will also find ready-to-print mailing labels in Microsoft Word for these newspapers indexed by region. They have the option of printing them directly from the Media Guide or they can save them on their computer and edit them as desired.

There is no registration required to use this FREE service.

"We looked at the available resources for nonprofits to effectively communicate with the media, and found a severe lack of options available, says Bob Bourassa, President of the Bourassa Media Group, which operates the MyNoodle site.

"Based on the amount of time put into creating the Media Guide, I can only imagine the time a nonprofits would have to invest into gathering the information themselves. The Media Guide circumvents all of the typical resources and gives nonprofits a single-source tool.

A project of the Bourassa Media Group, MyNoodle was developed to offer nonprofits a central focal point to get news and information that affects their organizations and to find key resources that they can use to further their missions.

Since 2001, MyNoodle has been committed to providing a portal for the benefit of the entire nonprofit community. "We compile the latest news that affects nonprofits, key feature articles to provide direction and key resources of companies and organizations that offer services for nonprofits."

MyNoodle is provided free to help nonprofits get the latest news and feature articles and locate, evaluate, and compare nonprofit related products and services, and includes:

- Real-time nonprofit and subject relegated news
- NoodleSoup for Nonprofits feature articles
- Comprehensive Resource Directory
- Nonprofit Job Center
- Listings of events, classes, workshops and seminars

Nonprofits who wish to use the Media Guide can access it through the MyNoodle main page (http://www.mynoodle.org) by clicking on the Media Guide Link.
