We Walk for a Lupus Cure on September 7th In Brooklyn, NY
The Philadelphia Church of Universal Brotherhood will have its Fifth Annual Lupus Walk on September 7th benefiting the S.L.E. Foundation in Brooklyn, NY. With a change in focus from bringing about awareness of Lupus to finding a cure, the Walk has been renamed Merlyn's Rainbow: Lupus Walk for a Cure in memory of one of the church's youth leaders who died from the disease seven years ago.
NEW YORK, NY (PRWEB) July 30, 2003 -- The Philadelphia Church of Universal Brotherhood will have its Fifth annual Lupus Walk on September 7th benefiting the S.L.E. Foundation in Brooklyn, NY. With a change in focus from bringing about awareness of Lupus to finding a cure, the Walk has been renamed Merlyn's Rainbow: Lupus Walk for a Cure in memory of one of the church's youth leaders who died from the disease seven years ago.
Day of Event Schedule:
On-site Registration at 10:00 AM - 530 Eastern Parkway, Brooklyn, NY
Morning Gospel Concert at 10:30 AM - 530 Eastern Parkway
Opening ceremony at 12 Noon - 530 Eastern Parkway, Brooklyn, NY
Start of the Walk at 12:30 PM - Eastern Parkway & Nostrand Avenue
Finish-Line Festivities at 2:30 PM - Eastern Parkway Between Nostrand and Rogers Avenues
Individual Registration Fee $20, Onsite-Day of Walk Registration $25
Team Registration Fee $10.
Our proposed route is:
Starting point at 530 Eastern Parkway (corner of Nostrand Avenue)
Turning right on to Nostrand Avenue continuing to Empire Boulevard
Turning right on Empire Blvd Walking towards Prospect Park.
At Ocean Avenue continue walking the perimeter of Prospect Park going towards Eastern Parkway
Turning right onto Eastern Parkway and walking back to our starting point
How can you help? We need you to support us at the Walk for a Cure on September 7th, beginning at Eastern Parkway and Nostrand Avenue at 10 AM.
Register to walk, assist us in spreading the news about this event by telling all you know about the good work you are doing. As you walk for a cure on September 7th, walk proud knowing that you have played a vital role in bringing an end to Lupus. Fights like this are won only with the help of others.
