Markland Technologies, an integrated security company, says its Vehicle Stopping System can be used to capture rogue vehicles without endangering the occupants.

Smuggling has become a high-volume business at the United States-Mexican border. The Department of Homeland Security has made border security a priority, while Mexican officials have said the safety and health of the illegal migrant's are imperative, according to Markland.

The VSS can stop and detain smugglers and terrorists traveling at speeds up to 50 mph, versus the current methods of tire shredders.

It uses a remotely triggered device with a net to capture and surround a suspicious vehicle, capturing the occupants inside until authorities arrive.
