American Book Cooperative Promotes Literacy in Non-Traditional Venues
HOUSTON, TX (PRWEB) August 1, 2003 -- The American Book Cooperative (ABC) continues to campaign for literacy and literature by presenting local authors in non-traditional bookselling venues like Aunt Mikes in the Heights, located at 3320 White Oak.
Visit with local authors, Saturday, August 9 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., Pam Van Scoyoc - Angel Wings - a beautiful, heart-warming story for angel lovers of all ages and Kathy Hood Culmer, Yes, Jesus Loves Me: 31 Love Stories - a compilation of stories shared by 31 women of varied ages, ethnic backgrounds, and religious orientation.
Pam Van Scoyoc was born in central Kentucky, raised and educated in Florida, and moved with her husband and four children to Texas in 1978. Her talents are art and a vivid imagination, which she demonstrated to her family until 1994 when she discovered her ability to put imagination into words and because everyone deserves an angel," Pam wrote -- Angel Wings.
Kathy Hood Culmer is a graduate of Spelman College and the University of South Florida. Kathy is a teacher, writer, and professional storyteller, who has for the past twelve years shared with audiences the desire to teach, entertain, and inspire. Yes, Jesus Loves Me is the first in her "Month of Sunday Stories" series.
