STEVE HACKETT SCHEDULES RARE ACOUSTIC TOUR OF BORDERS LOCATIONS TO PROMOTE SOLO ALBUM 'TO WATCH THE STORMS'ON INSIDEOUT MUSIC AMERICA LEGENDARY FORMER MEMBER OF GENESIS AND GTR VISITING 10 STORES ON THE EAST COAST AND IN THE MIDWEST AUGUST 5-13

Guitar legend Steve Hackett has scheduled a rare acoustic tour of 10 Borders locations on the East Coast and in the Midwest between August 5-13, 2003, to promote his new solo album 'To Watch the Storms' on InsideOut Music America.

These intimate performances, which are free and open to the public, will offer fans an unusually up-close-and-personal chance to see one of the true masters of the guitar. Hackett will perform, speak with fans and sign autographs.

'To Watch the Storms' showcases Hackett's songwriting skills and is an extraordinarily diverse album flavored with rock, jazz and classical touches. The single "Brand New" can be heard on rock radio.

Hackett first gained fame in the 1970s as a member of the pioneering progressive rock band Genesis. During his tenure between 1970 and 1977, he performed on the groundbreaking albums 'Nursery Cryme,' 'Foxtrot,' 'Selling England By the Pound,' 'Genesis Live,' 'The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway,' 'A Trick of the Tail,' 'Wind & Wuthering' and 'Seconds Out.' These works formed the very foundation of traditional progressive rock and yielded such classics as "The Musical Box," "Watcher of the Skies," "Supper's Ready," "I Know What I Like (In Your Wardrobe)," "Firth of Fifth," "Dance on a Volcano," "Squonk," "The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway" and countless others.

His incredibly prolific solo career began with 1976's 'Voyage of the Acolyte' while he was still a member of Genesis. Other solo albums include 'Please Don't Touch,' 'Spectral Mornings,' 'Defector,' 'Cured' and 'Darktown.' In 1986 he was a member of the supergroup GTR which released one self-titled album featuring the smash hit single "When the Heart Rules the Mind." Hackett's musical pursuits also include orchestral and acoustic works.
