TheEnvironmentSite.org provides an easy opportunity to help the environment at no cost to the visitor.
TheEnvironmentSite.org allows visitors to help the environment at no cost to themselves, either through clicking, searching the web or shopping. The site also contains an eco-tips knowledge base, a discussion forum and the latest eco news.
TheEnvironmentSite.org, an online environmental portal, which started operations early this month, offers a convenient place to learn more about the environment and raise money for the Surrey Wildlife Trust at no cost to the user through three fund-raising applications.
The site has enlisted the services of some of the UKs biggest names in online retailing, such as Amazon, Marks and Spencers and the RAC, to provide an online shopping experience. Each purchase made at the selected retailers donates a percentage of that purchase directly to the Surrey Wildlife Trust.
A partnership has also been forged with UK pay-per-click search engine, search2.co.uk. The partnership donates 50% of all income derived from the partnership to the Surrey Wildlife Trust. This enables users to raise money for a good cause whilst searching the web.
Finally the site has established sponsorship agreements with numerous leading companies, including online retailer Buying-British.co.uk. They pay 1 per day to sponsor part of the site.
In addition to raising money for the Surrey Wildlife Trust the site aims to raise awareness of environmental issues and provide means for people to help the environment. A knowledge base is provided enabling visitors to submit eco-friendly tips that people can incorporate into their every day lives to help the environment. There is also a discussion forum allowing active debate on the latest environmental news and issues.
TheEnvironmentSite.org is a privately owned website established through the University of Surrey in 2003, for more information visit: http://www.theenvironmentsite.org
