Mineola, NY (PRWEB) August 4, 2003 -- James Anthony Boglioli, Esq., an associate at the Mineola-based law firm Forchelli, Curto, Schwartz, Mineo, Carlino & Cohn, LLP (FCSMC&C), appeared as guest speaker on the topic of "FOIA - The Freedom of Information Act" at a recent seminar at the Huntington Hilton held by Lorman Educational Services.
Speaking before an audience of attorneys, legal staff, superintendents, county and municipal officers, city administrators and public relations directors, Boglioli addressed matters pertaining to public records in New York based on the public's right-to-know as covered by the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) effective January 1, 1978. "FOIA provides the public rights of access to records reflective of government decisions and policies," noted Boglioli. "The seminar was an opportunity to update our understanding of how this right has been effective in its first 25 years, and its applications going forward."
A resident of Franklin Square, Boglioli concentrates his practice at FCSMC&C in land use and zoning, with a specialty in environmental matters.
