L.A. TALENT ACADEMY ISSUES LAST CALL FOR SINGERS AND DANCERS SEEKING SUCCESS ON SHOWS LIKE AMERICAN IDOL," FAME," AND STAR SEARCH" Final Summer Auditions For One-Of-A-Kind Artist Development Program Providing Talent With Professional Training In Competitive Performance Scheduled For August 16TH

Open call audition for instensive training program designed to prepare aspiring singers, dancers and actors to effectively audition and compete for performance competition shos such as "American Idol," ""Fame," "American Juniors," and "Star Search."

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) August 3, 2003 -- Hollywoods world renowned Theater of Arts, the oldest performing arts school west of New York City, announced plans for a final summer audition for the schools L.A. Talent Academy (LATA). An open call is scheduled for Saturday, August 16, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. Auditions will be held at the Musicians Institute in Room P-100, 1655 North McCadden Place in Hollywood. Singers and dancers between the ages of 6 and 24 are invited to audition for a limited number of slots still available in LATAs innovative performing artist development program. The inaugural session of the program is set to launch in September, coinciding with the Theater of Arts Fall 2003 quarter.

With performance-based reality shows like American Idol," Fame," Star Search" American Juniors," Nashville Star" and most recently, Second Chance: Americas Most Talented Senior" becoming a phenomenon, L.A. Talent Academy is launching a unique and cutting edge curriculum aimed at providing professional training for aspiring performers. The program is an intense, 10-week workshop designed to develop raw talent at an accelerated pace, with a goal of cultivating young performers into multifaceted artists with the capability of singing, dancing and acting. Our mission is to find L.A.s most talented artists and prepare them for competition by shaping them into the ultimate triple threat" -- performers with the ability to command the stage and screen like Madonna, Britney Spears, Beyonce Knowles, Usher, Christina Aguilera, Renee Zellweger and Antonio Banderas to name a few," said Gwen Somers, Program Director of LATA.

LATAs overall concept is to train talent to be flexible and diverse enough to achieve and sustain viable careers in todays increasingly competitive and complex entertainment industry. Students will be given a comprehensive 10-week program consisting of intensive group and one-one-one training in voice and movement, coaching in various musical styles, dance training and instruction in performance and audition techniques. A great deal of emphasis will be placed on career development and the importance of honing ones craft. Entertainment industry executives and notable performers will participate throughout the program working with the future contestants on all aspects of preparation for competition, including strategies for coping with audition anxiety and interfacing with judges.

Also, LATA will offer interactive survival" workshops for parents that will focus on creating and maintaining an optimal support system for themselves and their children as they pursue their goals. Additionally, LATAs in-house marketing division will utilize its vast contact base to produce and promote a showcase featuring the student performers at the conclusion of the 10-week workshop. Industry professionals and celebrities representing television, film and music will judge the event.
   
A number of multi-talented performers from around the nation, participating in previously held auditions, have been selected for this elite program. Fifty remaining openings for the fall session will be filled at the August 16th audition. For more information on the L.A. Established in 1927, Theater of Arts is an institution of Campus Hollywood, the only multiple college facility in the history of Hollywood, offering education and training in various entertainment-related concentrations. Campus Hollywood encompasses Musicians Institute, United Television Broadcast, Elegance International, Inc., which teaches makeup artistry, ESP Guitar, Schecter Guitar and the Guitar Craft Academy, a program focused on electric guitar construction.
