IMechE Seminar: Surface Engineering and Coatings in Metallic Component Design
The objective of the seminar is to share knowledge on a wide range of surface treatments useful to the Aerospace (and Power Generation) industries. It is important that future surface treatments are cost effective and environmentally acceptable. This is not intended to be a specialised scientific meeting but a focus on actual applications to components and affect on designs.
(PRWEB) August 6, 2003 -- Event Title: Surface Engineering and Coatings in Metallic Component Design
Date: September/October 2004 (TBA)
Location: IMechE Headquarters, London
Event Type: 1-day Seminar
ESTIMATED COST
- IMechE Members 190
- Non-members 260
- Retired/Student 47
EVENT THEME
To share knowledge in the Aerospace community on surface coatings/treatments.
EVENT SCOPE
The condition of a component's surface can be enhanced by the appropriate application of a coating or treatment. Typically, these are divided into high temperature applications to protect the component from thermal effects or low temperature corrosion resistance/tribological applications. The choice of the appropriate surface treatment can also enhance mechanical performance.
