EVENT THEME
Can energy storage systems be developed, upsized and integrated with renewable energy producers to minimise these intermittency problems and is this an economic solution?
EVENT SCOPE
- Review of a range of storage systems - technical status and economics
- Methods of integrating into supply systems. Comparison with alternative routes (standby conventional plant etc)
- Planning and financial barriers and incentives and future measures required to implement such schemes
BENEFITS TO DELEGATES OF ATTENDING
- Up to date review of an important new technology route for resolving intermittency
- Understanding technical and economic viability of energy storage systems
- Meeting all parties involved in this technology area
DRAFT PROGRAMME
9.30 KEYNOTE ADDRESS - Covering the intermittency problem that results from renewable energy and discussing the present status of energy storage and how this can be integrated to alleviate the problem as well as outlining other measures.
Possible speaker: Dr David Vincent of the Carbon Trust.
10.00 CHEMICAL STORAGE - Regenesys and one or two other papers on large battery related systems.
