The Haskell Company has begun construction on a new Lee County, Fla., school that will help ease overcrowed elementary schools.
JACKSONVILLE, FL (PRWEB) August 6, 2003 -- For some Cape Coral elementary students, R will stand for more than just recess.
The Haskell Company has begun construction on Trafalgar Elementary School, designated School R" by Lee County. Haskell, in partnership with Avalon Engineering Inc., also provided architecture and engineering for the new school.
The 500-student school will help ease some already overcrowded Lee County elementary schools and help the county comply with new classroom size limits imposed by a recent state constitutional amendment.
The 57,415-square-foot school will have 31 classrooms and be built on the Trafalgar Middle School campus at Trafalgar Parkway and Southwest 20th Avenue.
The county plans to build 24 new schools in the next five years and 42 in the next 10 years according to a Fort Myers-based WINK-TV report.
Haskell is recognized as one of the nations leading design-build and construction management firms with annual revenues of $700 million.
