Nonprofits Find Strategic Communications Key To Promoting Their Cause, Keeping Up With Competition
Often in competition with other organizations for media attention, funding, volunteers and members, a growing number of nonprofit organizations are making strategic communications an integral part of advancing their mission. JML Communications Group, LLC, a new research and communications company, is responding to this demand by providing cost-effective solutions designed to improve nonprofit communications.
(PRWEB) August, 2003 -- With an estimated 1.5 million nonprofit organizations in the US, nonprofit organizations are finding themselves in an increasingly competitive environment.
As more nonprofits embrace communications strategies and technologies, and and as more foundations and government agencies demand proof of the effectiveness of funded initiatives, nonprofit organizations need a communications partner that can support their strategic goals -- from planning to evaluation," said Judy Lubin, JML Communications Groups Founder and Principal Consultant.
Lubin combines her unique combination of social science research and nonprofit communications experience to develop mission-focused solutions for JML Communications Group clients. A former Congressional Black Caucus Foundation fellow, Lubin has conducted and collaborated on a number of research and evaluation projects addressing health and other social issues. She has evaluated the scope and reach of public education and advocacy campaigns, and successfully developed and implemented the grassroots advocacy program at the National Minority AIDS Council. Among her key accomplishments, Lubins highly effective management, consultation and coaching of more than 400 Atlanta Avon Breast Cancer 3-Day participants helped raise over $1 million for breast cancer research and services for low-income women.
Our research-driven approach to communications identifies trends, best practices and successful strategies that can be used to develop customized action plans to help our clients respond to the needs of their key constituents," explains Lubin.
JML Communications Group began operations in January of this year, and was recently retained by the National Urban League to develop the content for a health information web site for African Americans. Shortly after its launch, the company helped the new National Capitol Area chapter of itSMF USA (Information Technology Services Management Forum) attract new members and increase the groups visibility among technology professionals.
JML Communications Group walked us through all the components of a PR Plan for the startup of our local interest group. By asking all the right questions and doing some basic research for us, JML was able to expedite what we had originally thought would be a painful process, said Kirk Holmes, Public Relations Chair for the itSMF National Capital Area Local Interest Group. Our board of directors loved the plan and we immediately realized a major increase in event attendance."
