Mother Launches Online Store to Spark Childrens Creativity with Crafts (and she did it with a little help from the Mom Pack)

Relatives and family friends have long sought a unique, creative gift that a special child in their life will adore. Now they can skip the standard toy stores and sit back in their chairs while they shop at www.childcrafter.com! Launched in April 2003, ChildCrafter is the creation of Susan Stump, a North Wales, PA mother, who found help in a network of women called the Mom Pack.

North Wales, PA (PRWEB) August 7, 2003 -- ChildCrafter offers creative craft and needlework subscriptions for children ages 4 and older. Kids receive innovative, professionally-made craft kits tailored to their interests for three or six months. What child doesnt love getting a package addressed to them in the mail? Customer Loretta Oliver raved, She loved it! Thanks so much!" Parents appreciate that the projects give their children an alternative to television and video games.

Susan researched and developed her business idea as her baby developed in the womb. She knew that when the baby arrived, she wanted to stay home with him and still maintain a career for herself. The idea of selling crafts for children came to her as she was sewing one of her many projects. I always loved doing crafts as a kid and its something that Im still excited about and love to talk about."

Hungry for advice from other women who have started their own businesses, Susan found a vast network of work-at-home moms on the Internet. She quickly came across the Mom Pack. The Mom Pack is a network of women who meet in an online forum, hosted by yahoogroups.com, to support, build and market each others businesses. These small businesses gather each others information, place them in packs, and deliver them to the general public via orders, craft shows, home shows and other outlets.

At ChildCrafter, the general craft subscription provides varying activities for individual children based on their gender, age and interests. Projects may include (but are not limited to) creating scary bug soaps, sculpting crazy sand critters, making edible ladybugs, and decorating a frame for a treasured photo. The recommended age range is 4 through 12. A three-month general subscription is $17 plus shipping, and a six-month general subscription is $31 plus shipping. Needlework subscriptions with counted cross stitch kits, stamped cross stitch kits or needlepoint kits are also available. Full instructions as well as a needle, fabric and thread are included. The recommended age is 12 years and older. A three-month needlework subscription is $22 plus shipping, and a six-month needlework subscription is $41 plus shipping.

ChildCrafter can be found on the web at www.childcrafter.com and the Mom Pack at www.mompack.com.
