EMOONLIGHTER'S GROWTH CONTINUES IN Q2 2003

Triple-Digit Percentage Growth Seen in Three Areas for Second Quarter 2003 vs. Second Quarter 2002

PITTSBURGH, PA (PRWEB) August, 2003 -- Emoonlighter, the world's largest online marketplace for freelance talent, announced triple digit percentage growth in three key metrics for the second quarter of 2003 compared to the second quarter of 2002. Triple-digit percentage growth occurred in the number of total projects posted, the number of new employer sign-ups, and the amount of revenue earned.

Emoonlighter saw the total number of projects posted on its four specialized sites grow 294%. The number of new employers registering to use Emoonlighter's online marketplace grew 108%, bringing the total amount of employers using Emoonlighter to over 33,000. Emoonlighter also witnessed a 195% increase in revenue, despite the uncertain economy impacting the entire second quarter of 2003 and the country's war with Iraq, which dominated the first month of the quarter.

Since Emoonlighter's integration of Guru.com's employer membership base in mid-July, the website has already increased the number of projects posted in the marketplace by 15% to 20% over pre-integration volume. This increased volume should continue throughout the third quarter of 2003, contributing positively to third quarter revenue.

"This was a strong quarter for us despite the persistent softness in the labor markets," said Inder Guglani, Emoonlighter's CEO and Co-Founder. "The acquisition of Guru.com assets towards the end of the quarter has provided us with a further boost in volume. We remain excited about our growth prospects in the coming quarters as we continue to build on the momentum we have worked diligently to create."

Contributing to Emoonlighter's growth in the second quarter of 2003 was the addition of new features that benefited both employers and freelancers using the marketplace. These new features included:

improving freelancers' ability to search for projects,
enabling freelancers to bid on non-local projects with
their bids going into a "holding bin," and
implementing project and private discussion boards for both employers and freelancers.

To maintain its strong growth, the Emoonlighter marketplace will continue to evolve to meet the demands of its growing user base.

This evolution includes:
enabling employers to upload documents/graphics with their project postings,
allowing employers to post private, invitation only projects,
enabling subscribing freelance members to upload documents/graphics with their proposals, and
implementing a direct deposit system for employers and freelancers.
