(PRWEB) August 7, 2003 -- Tri County Humane Societys first annual Pet-O-Rama dog walk and festival, a day of fun for the entire family and their pets, will be held October 25, 2003 from 10am - 4 pm on the grounds of FAUs Boca Raton campus, 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton, Florida. All proceeds from Pet-O-Rama will go directly to benefit Tri County Humane Society, a one hundred percent non-profit, privately funded, no kill animal shelter on Boca Rio Road in Boca Raton, Florida, and the thousands of dogs, cats, puppies and kittens that depend upon it each year to save their lives.
Tri County is urging companies of all sizes to form packs" for Pet-O-Ramas dog walk, which will kick off the festival at 10 a.m. A pack is a group of walkers that form a team and register prior to the event and walk together. Pack members get friends, family, coworkers and anyone else they can think of to sponsor their walk by donating any amount they can. Packs and pack members that raise the most money will earn various rewards, or doggie treats."
Participants can also register and walk individually. A $25 fee will be charged for each walker with no additional charge for the dog. The course is approximately one mile and will be limited to 3,000 participants. Pre-registration packets will be available at the end of August and pre-registration is suggested to avoid a wait on the day of the event.
Other highlights include gifts and goodies; vendors selling pet-related merchandise; food and drinks; contests; dog amusements; dog treats; and dog weddings.
Admission to Pet-O-Rama is $25. For more information or to register for the dog walk, please visit www.pet-o-rama.com or contact event co-chairs Judith Gittinger at 561-213-1075 or Jeri Poller at 561-998-3735.
