Author of "My Years with Capone" Takes on History's Public Good Guy Number One is His New Book
Neil Elliotts new book, THE AUTOBIOBRAPHY OF JESUS CHRIST, is amazing first person account of Jesus Christ. Imagine Jesus Christ sitting in your living room and just telling you how it is. THE AUTOBIOBRAPHY OF JESUS CHRIST is a compulsively readable book that makes the life of Jesus both interesting and accessible.
INDIANAPOLIS, IN - August 8, 2003 - Cork Hill Press of Indianapolis announced today the publication of THE AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF JESUS CHRIST, as told to Neil Elliott.
"As the leading historical figure of the last 2,000 years, I felt that Jesus' personal story was a story that should reach the public, which has a hunger for it now--and a need for it-- as at no other time in our national history," said Elliott. "And with that goal in mind, I kept after him until he agreed to sit for a long series of wide-ranging interviews that covered every detail of his early life, his family, the "hidden years," his well-known ministry, and finally, the Passion that has so fascinated mankind for thousands of years. Is Jesus the Messiah? Yes. Is he a son of the Lord God? Yes. Did he die for our sins? Yes, according to the Jewish prophets. But he also lived a very human life, full of all the human happiness, tragedy, pain, joy, and suffering familiar to all of us."
According to Mark Spratt, publisher and editor-in-chief at Cork Hill Press, "The first part of the book is like having your father or uncle sitting in your living room talking about his life. It's not a comedy, but at the same time he might occasionally say something that strikes you funny. We learn more about growing up in an obscure province of the Roman Empire than we ever have before.
"The middle of the book is devoted to his personal observation of his ministry as provided in the Gospels. Here we see yet again the wonderful teachings that have survived the centuries.
"The last part of the book deals with the Passion and gives it a sense of personal immediacy that we have never encountered before in any other writing on the subject. I was surprised when Elliott brought me this manuscript, and excited to be a part of this project."
