(PRWEB) August 9, 2003 -- Constant advances in the telecoms industry has led cable transit specialist Roxtec to introduce the new lightweight ComPlus frame. Reflecting feedback from users such as Vodafone Orange and T Mobile, this frame is designed to be quick and easy to install, while being adaptable to future needs.
The ComPlus frame is suited to use in base station enclosures and wherever reliable environmental sealing is vital on power or data cables passing through a barrier. The system is modular and comprises a universal end frame (left or right fitting) and clip in centre sections. Two end frames create a small transit, sufficient for six to 48 cable penetrations, depending on diameter. This can be upgraded by installing as many centre sections as required. Users have the option to leave the moulded blanking plate in place until the extra aperture is needed.
ComPlus transit systems are based on Roxtec's unique MultiDiameter modules. These allow different diameters of cables or pipes to be easily secured by the removing the module core and the right number of layers. Each module keeps sufficient separation between services, but still allows a large number of cable or pipes to pass through a compact enclosure.
Installing ComPlus frames is a simple, labour saving, one-man job. Transits can be factory fitted to cabinets or instrumentation and pre-terminated cables used to further speed site work. Changes to include new power and data cabling are easily done by knocking out the blanking plate and fitting more MultiDiameter modules. Cores may be left inserted in the modules if the aperture is not instantly required.
Transit frames are made from a light, strong zero-maintenance composite material. The fully assembled frames are IP68 rated and therefore suited to deluge/immersion conditions. Modular design reduces stock holding for users and installers.
