CDbaby.com, alone, reported sales of this incredible Blues CD coming in from Switzerland, New Zealand, England, Japan, and all over the US all in just one week! Keep in mind, this is all with little or no promotion!
When Brian Roads, General Manager of Roadcatz Records, was asked how this is possible, he said, If you want to call a little e-mail letter going out one at a time to Blues Radio Programs (as we find them) and putting in a link" where they can hear some of the music, then asking them if we can send a CD promotion, then I guess we promoted it! The thing is, when they sample the music, its got to grab them and Uncle Guss Guitar, vocals, and song writing simply just does it, thats all."
Uncle Gus himself said, Our concept is to start off slow, build momentum as you go, and treat the small radio station as almost more important then the big ones. As an example heres a copy of an e-mail I got from Mike Flowers at KZUM 89.3 FMs famous Mystic Mile Show in Lincoln Nebraska":
Chris, I aired 4 cuts from your new cd on my show, yesterday afternoon. Very refreshing stuff!!!!!
The phone rang off of the hook from regular listeners, wanting to know
"who is this cat"? Hopefully sales will pick up for your disc, and I personally hope that you don't stop crankin' 'em out. : This is the power of radio", says Uncle Gus.
According to Brian, The next step from Roadcatz Records has just been taken by signing with both FAVE ( an incredible new CD sales site ) and a major on-line CD distribution company called bluesmart.com. out of Las Vegas.
Brian said, Bluesmart is a lot like cdbaby with one important difference; They are all Blues ( and nothin but da Blues!) If youre good enough to be accepted by them, they can do a world of good for a small Blues label like Roadcatz Records by being sold right along all the major players!"
