SAN DIEGO, CA (PRWEB) August 11, 2003 -- santex-net, a San Diego-based international e-marketing design studio, has earned a Golden Web Award for the firms own Web site at www.santex-net.com. The award recognizes excellence in Web site design and is one of the industrys most prestigious recognitions.
The competition is open to 310,000 members of the International Association of Web Masters & Designers (IAWMD), which promotes industry standards and advocates voluntary self-regulation among professionals. Juan C. Santiago, president/CEO of santex, said the companys Web site is designed to reach the high-end corporate community, companies that want to capture a well-defined niche, growing e-commerce enterprises and businesses on the move.
"Golden Web winners are chosen by industry professionals who evaluate a range of areas, including artistic presentation, marketing effectiveness and ease of navigation," Santiago said. "The award tells us we accomplished what we set out to do."
Alice Martin is marketing director for Adams Magnetic Company (www.adamsmagnetic.com), a $15 million a year company with five locations nationwide. She chose santex after visiting several of the firms client sites and meeting with the santexs team.
"We wanted a site that a customer would want to visit and spend time on, not just find a phone number," Martin said. "Juan and the team spent time learning our business, identifying our market and organized the site beautifully, a very difficult thing to do in our industry. The final design turned out to be an excellent combination of style and function, and we know from the calls we are getting that customers are finding what they need. santexs own site reflects the same quality and caliber of work they do for their own clients, so Im not surprised it earned a major award."
"Theres a very strong industry trend toward flash sites that can easily overshadow HTML sites," said Santiago. "The temptation for designers is always there to place more emphasis on form than on function, sometimes at the expense of effectiveness."
Golden Web judges choose well-designed sites that best represent the company, according to Santiago. "We designed our own site as a snapshot of who we are and what we do. We were so confident of its effectiveness that we submitted it before the release of our new V0.8 flash presentation later this year."
The IAWMD. recognition is santexs fourth Golden Web Award and santex second major award for its own site since it was launched earlier this year. santex-net.com earned a place on the American Design Awards winners list in a world-wide competition considered among the most respected in the design industry.
Santiago is co-founder of the firm that began to weave the Web in 1999. Among its other industry honors, santex earned first place in a high-end German magazines advertising competition for the Deutsche Oper Berlin ad that appears throughout the Berlin subway system.
