STUDIO CITY, CA (PRWEB) August 11, 2003 - Patty McCormack, who began acting on Broadway at six, then starred in the classic "The Bad Seed", has been acting ever since, starring in recent years in a stage production of Dorothy Parker's "Ladies of the Corridor" and appearing in hit shows such as "ER", "The Sopranos" and "Family Law". On Saturday, August 16th, she will join Jim Chevallier and other actors to read from "The Monologue Bin", Jim's collection of original monologues for teens and adults.
The reading will begin at 1 p.m. on the patio of Studio City's unique Portrait of a Bookstore, with its rampant greenery, crazy squirrel and merry little fountain. This is where actor/writer Jim Chevallier wrote many of the over one hundred monologues in "The Monologue Bin", sold in bookstores and on his web site (http://www.chezjim.com).
The other actors will include Barry Carver, who directed "Romeo and Juliet Revisited" and has appeared on shows such as 'Freaks and Geeks" and "Popular"; Jim Chevallier, who spent years in Boston-area radio as an annnouncer and has appeared as an actor in "Passions" and a number of independent films; and Sheila Myjo, who recently played Carol Lomarge in "Carnage & Deception; A Killer's Perfect Murder".
The reading will last about an hour and will include a lively assortment of moods and types. It's a great chance to discover this lovely bookstore and Aroma coffeehouse, and it's free!
