Forest Lawn Museum Presents The Art of a People: Polish Expressions"
Forest Lawn Museum will host The Art of a People: Polish Expressions" a unique art exhibit featuring works of three artists that explore the Polish culture and its art from August 30th to November 16th, with the opening reception on August 28th.
Coupled with educational activities that include Meet the Artist" with Danuta Rothschild, on September 7th at 2:00 p.m. and Jerzy Skolimowski on October 5th, at 2:00 p.m., the exhibit creates an experience where people of all ages can learn about culture, history and art while enjoying the museum and the grounds at Forest Lawn-Glendale.
Well-known contemporary artists Rothschild and Skolimowski will show large paintings and will be featured in a video about their life and work. Jan Styka, the third featured artist, is known for creating the Crucifixion painting at the Hall of Crucifixion-Resurrection at Forest Lawn.
The exhibit will include artifacts and a 5 high by 20 long version of the Crucifixion painting shown in the half-round as it was originally intended when it was created.
