Lean and Mean applet threatens desktop clients.

Rad Inks announces the release of a graphical SFTP applet. Sized at a mere 150 Kilo Bytes, the applet starts up as fast as a desktop client thus making it an ideal replacement for costly desktop tools.

It is unusual for an applet to function as a file management tools. The severe restrictions imposed by the Java virtual machine make it impossible for an applet to access your hard disk. The Rad Inks team has successfully overcome these restrictions to build a lean and mean File Transfer tool that is one fifth the size of most similar programs.

Since many web based software involves lengthy downloads, user generally prefer to use desktop tools for file management. This results in organizations having to purchase a license for each user of the software. These license fees can run into thousands of dollars for any medium sized company.

The extremely small file size makes Rad SFTP applet an ideal replacement for these desktop FTP clients. Most companies would require only one license regardless of the number of users. What's more each user can access the applet even while away from office.

The applet uses SSL technology to encrypt all transactions between the client and the server hence the term Secure FTP. Commonly available file transfer clients on the other hand do not make use of encryption. This leaves the door open for would be attackers to gain access to your passwords and sensitive data.

Rad Inks is an Innovative tech startup based in Asia and specializes in Java Technology. The company plans to release several applications in the coming months that will complement it's secure ftp software. The applet can be downloaded at http://www.radinks.com/sftp
