Three of the most prominent and unique features of SMI Linear Slides & Positioning Stages are: 1) SMIs design engineering and manufacturing know-how eliminates unnecessary components and stack up tolerances which improves accuracy, reliability, and significantly reduces cost. 2) A standard center hole is provided on all our ball slides with a travel of 1 inch or greater. Mounting with a center hole will eliminate any bow on the slide and add greater mounting security. 3) SMI Linear Slides & Positioning Stages are interchangeable and popular sizes are available off the shelf. If you cannot find the right size for you application, SMI will build an application specific assembly to meet your needs.

SMI Linear Slides & Positioning Stages are made of lightweight aluminum carriage and base with black anodized finish. Built-in holes provide easy installation. Straight line accuracy of 0.0001"/inch of travel for cross rollers and 0.0005" /inch of travel for ball slides. Positional repeatability 0.0001". Coefficient of friction 0.003 typical.
