Cheyenne, Wyoming (PRWEB) August 12, 2003 Â Jim Bigelow, manager of the Technical Services Division of the Wyoming Department of Agriculture, announced today that a new Internet website has been launched to provide free public access to product registration information. The site currently enables users to search for Feeds and Fertilizers by the brand name of the product, or the name of the company marketing the product. Later updates will include access to registered Pesticide products and Apiary (honey bee) registrations.
According to Bigelow, Âmaking this information easily accessible will create a better-informed consumer which helps us to accomplish our mission, which is the promotion and enhancement of WyomingÂs agriculture, natural resources and quality of life. The site, located at http://www.kellysolutions.com/wy, will also become a favorite tool for extension agents, crop consultants, laboratories and universities who use this information every day. The department updates the database on a weekly basis, so users can be assured that the information they receive is timely and reliable.
This new website is the result of an agreement, termed a public-private arrangement, between the department and Kelly Registration Systems, Inc. (KRS) of Covington, Georgia. The Internet access, software applications and maintenance are all provided to the department by KRS at no cost to taxpayers.
In the near future companies will be able to use the site to conduct business with the department online, instead of through the mail as they do now. This e-Commerce tool, called E-Renewals, will enable manufacturers to renew their product registrations, in Wyoming and many other states, with one transaction, saving a great deal of time and administrative costs.
ÂWe are very excited that this technology is being made available to our citizens and the companies we work with, said Bigelow.
Kelly Registration Systems, Inc. is a Georgia corporation providing similar Internet services to 40 states. While the Internet site is provided to the states at no cost, KRS does charge a small transaction fee to companies for use of some of the e-Commerce features available on their websites.
