Heartstrings gets kids involved and inspired with music.

On August 30, 2003 Heartstrings Foundation will have its first event designed to inspire children to become involved with music. This free family event will be held in Wynola California at Wynola's Pizza Express from 12 noon till 9:30 p.m. Local musicians playing a variety of instruments will be on hand to inpire and mentor during the day and at 6 p.m. there will be an Acoustic Underground concert featuring World-Class fingerstyle guitarists KEV (Kevin Rones) Jim Earp and Tom Boyer.

August, 2003 -- The first Hearstrings Event will be held in Wynola California, North East of San Diego near Julian, on Saturday August 30. The Heartstrings Foundation is a volunteer organization formed by acoustic fingerstyle guitarist KEV (Kevin Rones) with the goal of inspiring children to become interested in learning a musical instrument.

Local musicans volunteer their time to inspire, perform and mentor everyone interested in music. A variety of genres and instruments will be represented including Finger Style Guitar, Classical Guitar, Banjo, Piano, Woodwind instruments, Vocal Harmony and more. Artists perform short mini-concerts and then answer questions about their music, performance and instruments. There will also be opportunity for kids to actually hold and play instruments as well as get expert advice from the mentoring musicians.

The Acoustic Underground will present a concert at the event starting at 6 p.m. featuring world-class finger style guitarists KEV, Jim Earp, and Tom Boyer. The event is free and family friendly. Wynola Pizza Express is located 3.5 miles west of Julian, 4355 Hwy 78, Julian, CA 92036.
