PRIMAGRAPHICS LAUNCHES CONDUCTION COOLED PMC GRAPHICS AND VIDEO WINDOWS CARD

Rugged low power design optimized for harsh environments. Supports display resolutions up to 1280x1024 pixels

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (PRWEB) August 17, 2003 -- Primagraphics, the command & control, video and graphics specialist (www.primagraphics.com), has introduced the Falcon CC, an integrated graphics and video windows card in a rugged conduction cooled PCI Mezzanine Card (PMC) format.

Part of Primagraphics' Hawkeye PMC range of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) radar, video and graphics boards, Falcon CC features a rugged conduction cooled design with low power dissipation. This enables the card to be used in a very wide range of environments, including conditions of high temperature (-40 to +85 degrees centigrade) and vibration. Applications include airborne displays, multi function consoles and video windows systems.

Falcon supports a full range of display resolutions up to 1280x1024 pixels. The video input accepts composite and S-Video in PAL, NTSC or SECAM formats, as well as non-interlaced RGB signals. Monochrome video in CCIR or RS-170 format is also supported. Video windows generated from the video input may be optionally zoom enlarged to full screen or zoom reduced down to one sixteenth original size.

Falcon CC outputs standard analog RGB video and the card supports 8-bit, 16-bit or 24-bit color. A range of interlaced and non-interlaced formats is supported, including the STANAG 3350 Analog Video Standard Class A.

Falcon CC uses Silicon Motion's Lynx3DM+ graphics controller offering the advantage of low power dissipation whilst maintaining high power 3D and 2D performance. The Lynx3DM+ incorporates an IEEE Floating Point Set-up engine as well as a fully featured 3D rendering engine.

The Falcon CC card, as with all cards in the Hawkeye range, is compatible with both VME and CompactPCI host cards, providing customers with flexibility over choice of host processor - Power PC, or Intel x86 - and operating environment - Linux, Solaris or Windows.
