WASHINGTON, D.C. (PRWEB) August 18, 2003 --- The Federation of American Consumers and Travelers (FACT) is set to unveil the newest addition to its list of aid programs. The Small Business RecoveryŠ program will provide immediate and uninterrupted financial assistance to small businesses that have been adversely affected by any sudden or unforeseen economic downturn.
FACT noted that the success of small businesses is largely dependent on economic stability, and when this stability is disrupted these businesses are thrust into peril.
FACT is an association of consumers, formed under the not-for-profit corporation laws of the District of Columbia in 1984. The association currently represents some 1,000,000 consumers nationwide.
FACTs Small Business RecoveryŠ program will provide eligible applicants with an immediate payment of $250. Recipients of this financial aid will then receive information regarding public and private grant resources as well as financial tips for small businesses. FACT is in the process of seeking outside sponsors for the Small Business RecoveryŠ program in order to expand the benefits that the program offers.
The association emphasizes that this Program does not represent insurance. Benefits are paid at the discretion of the Small Business Recovery Committee up to the extent of available funds.
At this time," says FACTs Program Director, Sarah Chase, FACT is able to offer applicants $250 in immediate, no-strings-attached, aid. Although a small amount, we wholeheartedly believe that even a small charitable contribution can be enough to hold off bankruptcy, pay the one bill that threatens to push the business over the edge, or just give a foundling business an extra chance at success.
In such a perilous economy, it is FACTs intention that the Small Business RecoveryŠ program will be seen as a beacon of hope for those who are struggling to live out their dreams."
Any questions regarding this program may be directed to Sarah Chase at 1-877-444-FACT or sachase@fact-org.org.

FACT is entirely apolitical. It is not a lobbyist organization. Instead, it serves as a nonpartisan source for our nations lawmakers on what the consumer is thinking, and as a nonpartisan source for its members on what the nations lawmakers are doing.
