First Lady of Track and Field Jackie Joyner-Kersee Running with Zunch

Joyner-Kersee retired from sports in 2001 at age 38 and now lives near St. Louis, but Jackie was active in her community long before she left professional sports.

The JJK Community Foundation was formed in 1989, fulfilling Jackies lifelong dream of giving back to her community. Partnering with business and civic leaders from the St. Louis metropolitan area, Jackie also created the JJK Boys and Girls Club of East St. Louis, Illinois, her hometown.

The Jackie Joyner-Kersee Boys & Girls Club provides educational and recreational programs that assist in the promotion of the rebirth of East St. Louis and, in turn, enhance the entire St. Louis region.

During her sports career, Jackie Joyner-Kersee became the most decorated woman in U.S. Olympic track and field history with six medals.
