Illinois Artist Accepted Into State Society
The Illinois Artisans Society recently approved Lockport artist John Zufa for membership.
LOCKPORT, IL (PRWEB) August 19, 2003 -- Local artist John Zufa was recently accepted into the Illinois Artisans Society. His work in wood has made him a local celebrity drawing visitors to his workshop in Lockport to view his finely detailed miniatures, which include a castle and a remarkable log home. Both works have received awards and have been displayed outside his workshop.
In addition to his miniatures, Mr. Zufa also creates landscapes out of wood, which he terms 'woodscapes, using varying shades and types of wood to create color and dimension. The talented Zufa is also a musician who at one time played the accordian with the popular 'Dukes of Rhythm.
I am so pleased to have my work accepted. It really is an honor. There is so much time put into each piece -- most people have no idea."
The Illinois Artisans Society consists of Illinois craftspeople and is open to new membership only through a jury process. His work is currently on display at the Illinois Artisan Shops in Chicago, located in the Thompson Center.
