Preview Performance of AssassiNation: "We Killed Kennedy" Rock Opera at the Bowery Poetry Club

It was not a conspiracy, but a coincidence, that several groups decided to assassinate President Kennedy on the same day, at the same time and in the same place. That's the theory behind AssassiNation: We Killed Kennedy, a rock opera playing at the Bowery Poetry Club (http://www.bowerypoetry.com) at 308 Bowery on Aug. 19. Doors open at 8 p.m.

NEW YORK -- It was not a conspiracy, but a coincidence, that several groups decided to assassinate President Kennedy on the same day, at the same time and in the same place.

That's the theory behind AssassiNation: We Killed Kennedy,a rock opera playing at the Bowery Poetry Club (http://www.bowerypoetry.com) at 308 Bowery on Aug. 19. Doors open at 8 p.m.

Death of the Party will perform the music by former Vampyr Theatre writer Tony Sokol, along with special guests: burlesque diva and public access TV host The Goddess Miss Kitty, playing Marilyn Monroe and choreographing special dance numbers; Cathy G of the band Public Animal and Sandra Grace of Sister Sez.

And it's all part of a larger show headlined by the Star People, who will present a sci-fi multimedia rock opera experience. Other acts include: a Frank Sinatra tribute by Jesse Posa; GoGo Girls featuring Miss Kitty and Polly Peabody and mistresses of ceremonies Miss Mary A and Editrix Abby.

If you only see two rock operas this week, make them AssassiNation and Star People.
