About Canadian Seniors-Advisory Corp.
One day in June 1999, at the age of 60, I went into my favorite coffee shop and ordered a coffee and a big blueberry muffin. The waitress charged me $1.99. A strange thing happened as I turned to find my regular seat near the window; she called out, "Oh, I forgot you're a senior, there's a 10% discount for seniors." Smiling, she reached out and passed me twenty cents.
Now, no one in that store had ever offered me a seniors discount before and I had been stopping at that coffee shop everyday for three years! During that time I had bought about $2100 dollars in coffee and extras. I had been a senior all the time I frequented that coffee shop, had I known that a senior's discount existed and taken advantage of it, I would now have an extra $210.00 in my bank account.
Mentally kicking myself, I have begun to take advantage of these hidden discounts in all of my purchases. I'm amazed at how much I can save on items such as: travel, education, seniors store specials, pharmacy discounts and various government fees, just to mention a few. I've learned that in North America there were, in 1999, about sixty-six million and more seniors in our age group. What about them? Why not help them?
What about the retailers who could gain more customers by having the seniors benefits identified? If the information is now only available to a few, wouldn't they benefit from informing all the seniors communities, and improve their overall profits with more customers?"
Seniors Advisory was registered as a Corp. in 2002 by this man in his 60's with a dream which was to provide the adult over 50 community with information about the discounts and benefits that many merchants offer to them in every town and city in North America. At the present time the information is made available free, with the only limitations on the information being provided being, the ability to cover all areas in the age with their present limited resources. It is estimated that full North American information in each town will take some time to accomplish due to the lack of funding necessary, to accomplish this gargantuan task.
To date the service is growing at the rate of 50% per month with expertspredicting that this growth will continue at the same rate for many years.
