IN SEARCH OF AMERICA'S BEST KITCHENS

National Certification Effort Can Make Anyone With a Saucepan A Star

Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) August 25, 2003 -- Cathy Leslie, a veteran purveyor of e-cookbooks and winner of multiple local cooking awards and prizes believes its high time for the really great chefs of America, those who prepare meals for their families everyday, to receive their just desserts.

Ms. Leslies passion for the importance of the American family meal and the people who prepare them is clear. In America a woman of Hispanic lineage marries a man of German decent, an Irishman weds an Italian lady -- every possible permutation of cultures intermingle. Each spouse brings with them the recipes and cooking styles of their upbringing. The cuisines collide. Inside every American kitchen the melting pot is literally a pot!"

Any person can enter. Simply visit www.americasbestkitchens.com and submit a recipe. Recipes are then distributed to 50 judges who have distinguished themselves for their own home cooking excellence. If a recipe is selected then the person who submitted it is contacted immediately. A framed plaque certifying that this kitchen is one of Americas Best and a ribbon with medal is issued. A release will also be issued to the media within the community of the submitter notifying them of the award. Persons submitting recipes pay no entry fees or costs and are under no obligation.

An example of the end result can also be found on the website. Its a CD entitled Americas Best Kitchens Collection Volume One containing 5100 recipes (100 from kitchens in every state and the District of Columbia) . In the beginning I would create e-cookbooks that would contain my own recipes. A few folks would buy them, like them and submit some recipes back to me. I asked if I could include them in future cookbooks and they said it would be okay. Over the years, through emails and chat rooms, I managed to collect over two million recipes. Some of these dishes are incredible. In fact, I never imagined there were so many ways to cook meatloaf! Each recipe on the CD appears precisely as it was received -- complete with typos and everything."

Persons interested in submitting a recipe to be included in the next edition of the Americas Best Kitchens Collection can do so by visiting www.americasbestkitchens.com. We have programs that recognize amateur athletes, entertainers and scholars -- why not a program that nationally recognizes the moms and dads, aunts and uncles who take the time to show us they care with a spatula?"

Americas Best Kitchens will also make available, at no charge, to print media a syndicated weekly insert entitled Americas Best Kitchen of the Week. Each insert will include one recipe submitted to the website.
