Top U.K. Bookseller Blackwell's Hot on Rikki Lee Travolta Hollywood Novel

England top bookseller Blackwell's brings Hollywood hit novel "My Fractured Life" by Rikki Lee Travolta across the ocean.

ENGLAND (PRWEB) August 21, 2003 - Following the lead of the U.S. retail giants Amazon.com/Borders Books & Music, Barnes & Nobel, and Books-A-Million; U.K. bookseller Blackwell's is advertising that it now stocks hit Hollywood novel "My Fractured Life" by Rikki Lee Travolta for immediate delivery.

A behind-the-scenes account of the B-actor's life in Hollywood, and the sexual and chemical addictions that litter the entertainment industry, "My Fractured Life" is a popular title among buyers of "Living History" by Hillary Clinton and "Bleachers" by John Grisham, according to Barnes & Nobel.

Sales of the Travolta story have skyrocketed since the announcement that Port Magee Pictures has negotiated the film pitch rights for development for the screen. Port Magee principals Dan Riley and Peter J. Clark hold individual production credits on The Original Kings of Comedy," Superstar," The Wood," and The Core."

Jordana Bieze of CMP Media compares the book to Carrie Fisher's "Postcards From the Edge" by actress turned author Carrie Fisher. That book was successfully adapted to film with stars Dennis Quaid, Meryl Streep, and Shirley MacLaine.

Blackwell's was founded in Oxnard on New Year's Day in 1879 by B.H. Blackwell. The bookstore founder first published J.R. Tolkien in 1915, the writer went on to author "The Hobbit" and "The Lord of the Rings."

In 1995 Blackwell's became the first U.K. bookseller to launch a transactional online bookshop - www.blackwell.co.uk.

Travolta was listed on the 45 annual Grammy Awards nomination ballot in six categories and has appeared throughout the world in headlining roles in "Tony n' Tina's Wedding," "West Side Story," and "Bye Bye Birdie." His film and television credits include work with Ron Howard, Rob Reiner, Matthew McConaughey, and Woody Harrelson.

In February 2003, Travolta became the first member of his family to appear in the starring role of Danny Zuko in the musical "Grease" since John Travolta's appearance in the 1978 film adaptation.
