MAYOR OF PASADENA OPENS ART EXHIBITION RENOWNED ARTIST DONATES SCULPTURE TO CITY OF PASADENA

Many celebrities are expected to attend. Sculptures by the artist are created by cutting and manipulating car license plates into works with tremendous visual and tactile appeal.

At this exclusive invitation only event, guest of honor the Mayor of Pasadena Bill Bogaard, will unveil a one of a kind Kalish sculpture. This original work of art will be donated to the city of Pasadena in the names of Mayor Bill Bogaard, Michael Kalish and the Artworks Gallery.

Artworks Gallery will feature Kalishs sculptural portraits of 20th century pop icons such as Audrey Hepburn, Elvis Presley, John Wayne, Grace Kelly, Charlie Chaplin, Bob Marley, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison and the Hollywood Rat Pack" together with his popular Americana images; contemporary interpretations of traditional patriotic imagery.

Kalishs work is featured in the homes of numerous celebrities including Sharon Stone, Courtney Cox, Jay Leno, Arnold Schwarzenegger & Maria Shriver, Linkin Park, Nancy Regan and Cuban leader Fidel Castro.

The Artworks Gallery is a high-end seller of 20th century fine art. The work of Kalish will be sharing the gallery with masterpieces by such artists as Picasso, M.C. Escher, Marc Chagall, Roy Lichtenstein and Andy Warhol. This exhibition marks the first time that Artworks Gallery has chosen to represent a newer artist in its gallery.
