Much of their success is due to the McCoy's emphasis on focus, self control, listening skills and of course a large dose of fun."
Auburn, MA (PRWEB) August 20, 2003 --- Karate is Super fun, and I would never hit my little brother," says Jacob, age 4 ½, as he jumps up and hugs his little brother, I love him." Socialization skills, coordination development, self-control and self discipline are only the results of one of the nations largest pre-school karate programs in Auburn, MA.
If you ask the children in the program why they are there, they will tell you that its super" fun. I was amazed when I found out that we were one of the nations largest pre-school karate programs," said Anne McCoy, one of Action Karates co-owners. We know it exceeds our goals for personal development, socialization and fun, but we did not know we were one of the best at it."

McCoy says that her daughter Barbara was the inspiration for their original Tiny Tiger program. Barbara started karate at age 4 ½ and is now a 4th degree black belt at age 19, and a college sophomore. Barbara used the confidence skills she learned then to help get her into both her high school and college, and we felt we wanted to pass those skills on to other parents children." The program has ½ hour classes 5 days a week, and 3 full time instructors assigned to it alone.
Each child learns to communicate with other children of the same age, adults, and even their parents in class, while also practicing coordination skills in a fun environment. The children are generally unaware that they are learning self-control and self-discipline while in class.
We tell them how what they have just done makes them and their parents happy, and they repeat the behaviors at home. The method of teaching is physical motion martial arts arranged with fun drills. While doing an activity that kids love to do, we are able to develop listening skills, focus and concentration all at the same time." says Paul McCoy, the other owner.
