Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Partners to Fund Grant, Voice Empowered Technology Organization Named Non-LEA Lead Partner for the
High School Pupil Success Act"

SACRAMENTO, CA (PRWEB) August 21, 2003 --- Voice Empowered Technology Organization is pleased to announce that they are the non-LEA Lead Partner with the GRANT JOINT UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT in the ground breaking initiative High School Pupil Success Act". Voice Empowered Technology Organization, was established by Founder/Chairman Alicia C. Kelley and President/Vice Chairman, Michael Estes in order to serve the special needs of the educational community with advanced technology solutions.
The programs objective is to increase the current technological aptitude and raise the API scores of students throughout the state of California. Voice Empowered Technology Organization is clearly committed to the GRANT JOINT UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT, which encompasses four high schools and an adult education center.
As Ms. Alicia C. Kelley states, Technology can be utilized as a tool to enhance the traditional components of learning. Reading, writing, math, science and critical thinking can all be captured through one project."
The Digital Divide- defined as the gap between the haves and the have nots, continues to challenge our society. VETO accepts this challenge and pledges to utilize all of their unique insights of the local community in addition to their vast technological knowledge in order to confront this plague.
VETOs President/Vice-Chair quotes, It is not our plan to bridge the digital divide but we plan to eliminate it. We are endeavoring to create a model technology program that will cycle students into fully trained entry-level positions in Corporate America". VETO will give the students an opportunity to compete with applicable work force skills through 21st century technology.
Voice Empowered Technology Organization has established a five-step program, which entails the following:
Assessing the corporate workforce needs
Translating these needs into viable, user friendly technology
Structuring and planning parallel curriculums into classrooms
Implementing commerce partnerships promoting entry-level programs
Managing and evaluating students in preparation for entry-level admission into Corporate America.
As an established member of Coral (Community Organizing Resources to Advance Learning), VETO is recognized for their After School and Community based technology computer labs and software. As the GRANT JOINT UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT stated Veto has the understanding and the vision to lead a district community partnership."
Voice Empowered Technology Organizations mission statement is to provide a holistic technology based after school and community center focused learning environment, where teachers, parents and students have supportive and reinforced learning strategies that are heightened through the use of integrating assisted technology into curriculum in a creative and dynamic way; thus enhancing and complementing all students in their day time learning structures".
Voice Empowered Technology Organization has brought their understanding and clarity of vision to this partnership. Voice Empowered Technology Organization has a long association with the California Childrens Services as well as many members of the financial and business community. Through their established ties with parents, students and educators, Veto will act as the catalyst that will make the High School Pupil Success Act" a Success.
This organization will assist the GRANT JOINT UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT in the planning, developing and implementation of innovative educational and social programs through technology. This collaboration with the GRANT JOINT UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT and other community partners will bring forth a beacon of light in the tumultuous seas of education.
Mr. Estes states, The children are the future and they are the heart of the future American Workforce Community. The children must be encouraged through our technological educational systems that they will have a place in the 21st century technological work force".
