NEW THEATRE COMPANY CELEBRATES MULTICULTURALISM AND DIVERSITY WITH THE PEANUTS" GANG
(PRWEB) August, 2003 -- The Diversity Players is a new multi-ethnic theatre ensemble committed to bringing professional family entertainment to the southern California community that celebrates multiculturalism and diversity. Fueled by the 3 Es - Exposure, Entertainment, and Enlightenment - the Diversity Players seeks to incorporate non-traditional casting into traditional musicals and plays, allowing performers and audiences alike to be entertained and educated by our many differences, but innumerable similarities.
We chose YOURE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN, the beloved musical based on the Charles M. Schulz 'Peanuts' comic strip as our inaugural show because its a piece that many people know and love in a traditional sense," said Reggie De Leon, Producing Artistic Director. The Diversity Players production is going to add a fresh and innovative spin to the show thats been inspired by our color blind casting."
The Diversity Players version of YOURE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN features a multi-ethnic and culturally diverse cast with (in alphabetical order): Reggie De Leon of Santa Fe Springs as Snoopy, *Carla Jimenez of Valley Village as Lucy, Peter Liptak of North Hollywood as Charlie Brown, Masaya Palmer of Irvine as Sally, Nick Petris of Santa Fe Springs as Schroeder, and *Tedd Szeto of Pasadena as Linus.
