SAN RAMON, CA (PRWEB) August 22, 2003 -- Formed out of frustration with Web site unavailability problems on the Internet typified by 404 error messages like The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties..." the founders of SwiftIS Inc. vowed to develop bullet proof" DNS (Domain Name System) management solutions that generate revenue for their users and eliminate the reliance on manual administrative procedures currently driving the Internet.
Faced with the fact that, surprisingly, the infrastructure of the Internet is lacking technological support to ease its usage and enjoyment as well as increase its reliability, SwiftIS has developed two new tools that support DNS management. These tools will become solutions to the technological support of the Internet that is missing.
The SwiftIS Availability Monitor is a Web site monitoring tool that monitors Web site availability, acting as a third party user on a scheduled basis. Administrators are instantly alerted by email or cell phones if a problem is detected (i.e., a 404 error message is received or no response is given).
No longer will you or your users have to rely on customer backlash to tell you a web site or host is down. The SwiftIS DNS Manager helps eliminate problems before they occur. This tool automates the tedious, error prone and timely tasks associated with manual changes to DNS addressing.
Our customer base of ISPs, domain registrars and enterprises that manage large numbers of domain names are looking for two things these days. First and foremost, they need ways to provide a value add to their users that generates revenue, and second, given the ever-increasing pressures for cost reduction, they are looking for innovative ways to reduce IT overhead and increase the efficiency of their current resources. Our goal is to address both of these issues. Our DNS management tools developed to date successfully accomplish this", states Len Fisher, Professor of Information Systems, University of San Francisco and SwiftIS technical advisor.
The principals, Chris and Brian Smith, Dave Willsey, Prof. Len Fisher, Mike Fake, David Hodges, Tim Roepken and Dana Ellingen, respected industry veterans, have pooled their considerable talents to launch SwiftIS, which is headquartered in San Ramon, CA, at the Contra Costa/Tri-Valley Telecommunications Incubator.
