AuthentiX v 5.6 password protects RSS (Real Simple Syndication) files

(PRWEB) August 25, 2003 -- With the proliferation of spam email, many online news syndicators are turning to Real Simple Syndication (RSS) to deliver timely relevant online content. AuthentiX version 5.6 protects RSS files, allowing member only access to online content syndication. This feature is valuable to online content distributors who currently use RSS, such as newspapers and bloggers.

What is RSS, and why is it important to Online Content Syndicators ?

RSS (Real Simple Syndication) is a self-proclaimed simple way to distribute periodic content online, without using email. By avoiding email, RSS is not subject to spam blockers. Email spam blockers are a growing problem for online content syndicators. RSS is typically delivered as an XML file.

More\information about RSS can be found at: http://rss.lockergnome.com

Why is AuthentiX important to online content syndicators? AuthentiX can be easily configured to password protect these RSS files -- allowing access only to paid subscribers. AuthentiX integrates with payment processors such as PayPal, EZIC, and CCBill, easily updating the database with new subscribers when they purchase access to the online content.

AuthentiX allows online content syndicators to protect their RSS files using their choice of basic authentication (with the pop up dialog box), cookie based authentication, By IP address, By Domain Name or By Host Header.

AuthentiX password protects websites separate from NT usernames and passwords. AuthentiX v. 5.6 allows failover protection to Basic Authentication from Cookie based authentication.

AuthentiX 5.6 includes proven solutions such as browser based remote administration (allowing administrators to effect directory permissions from any web browser!) and integrated online credit card clearing, where users are automatically added and deleted from the database by premier credit card clearers.

AuthentiX 5.6 Features:
