Roger Gallo, Founder of EscapeArtist.com, recently visited San Cristobal International’s (SCI) tropical hardwood and medicinal plant plantations in Bocas del Toro, Panama for an article that has been published on the Escape Artist website. In the words of Mr. Gallo, “My main objective was to find out what had transpired in the twelve months since [I published] my first article [about the Tropical Working Farms] and also to see the plantations, to know that what I was writing about was progressing and that the plantations were being planted.”

Gallo visited the plantations and conducted a question-and-answer session with Tom McMurrain, President of SCI, who summed up the develooments on the plantation project when he said, “The tropical working farm has proven to be an excellent investment because it combines so many values into one package; [waterfront] land on the Caribbean, income from the land, residency in Panama, a 25-year tax-free growth status on the plantations, and in addition to all of that we're starting to build homes for plantation owners.

Even given the huge demand, owners’ plantations are being cleared, planted, surveyed and titled in a timely manner as promised. As a natural result, SCLD’s customers are happy and expect to see income within the next 2-3 years. One plantation owner, John Cole, told me that [he is...] ‘very happy with SCLD, its operations and its management. I have every confidence in your ability to protect my investment, and to make the whole project work.’ Positive feedback keeps us motivated.”

Gallo also reported on San Cristobal Land Management’s (SCLM, the plantation management division of SCI) recent agreement with Geo Forestal, one of Panama’s largest and most respected reforestation companies, to assist in the clearing, planting and maintenance of the Bocas plantations. Other positive news was that SCLM is now working closely with Panama’s ANAM (the Institute of Natural Resources) to ensure that all plantations have full certification as reforestation projects and will obtain official recognition as such, which opens the door to all of the tax, residency and other benefits offered to reforestation project owners.

Finally McMurrain described SCI’s new plantation project in the Palmira region of Panama’s Colon Province to Gallo. “We now have Caribbean, beachfront tropical working farms adjacent to San Blas. SCLD is offering beachfront tropical working farms in Palmira, which borders one of the most beautiful areas of Panama…the San Blas Islands. We want your readers to visit us and look at the projects first hand. When they see the beaches, the water, the palm trees and the progress we're making on the plantations they will understand what all the shouting is about.”

To end his report, Gallo stated, "I have to admit that I am more than a little impressed with what you've put together here. I never fully endorse any investment on our website, but…This is absolutely amazing! I'm going to elect you for the Escape Artist best investment of the century award.”

SCI’s Palmira Plantation consists of 25 10-acre lots, each with 60 meters of pristine beachfront, at a price of US$156,000 per lot. To get on the SCI waiting list or to request media information, contact media@sancristobalsa.net, 1-866-811-5324 (U.S.) or at +507-322-0913 (Panama).
