Fall Finds National Touring Musician, Improvisational Guitarist and Singer/Songwriter Garrin Benfield on the Road for Two Coasts, Two Tours.

High demand and a rapidly growing national fan base kicks the crooners tour schedule into High gear with nearly 40 shows in two months.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA August, 2003 -- Garrin Benfield, the San Francisco Bay Area based guitarist and singer/songwriter, is pleased to announce that the dates for his annual fall tour are now available! Benfields tour will take the modern, eclectic crooner up and down both coasts. September will find him traveling from Vancouver, BC to San Diego, CA. October will set Benfield in the foliage as he tours New York, the Capital District, New England and lower Canada!

The shows will primarily be defined by his soulful and lyrical solo-acoustic ventures but some shows will include Benfields hard-driving improv band. Venues will include a mix of acoustic listening rooms, clubs and colleges. This tour announcement comes just days after the conclusion of his Summer Tour that included mostly full-band, amphitheatre shows with Mr. Boz Scaggs and his fourth outing this year!

Benfields reputation as a touring musician is gaining attention nationwide as stories in the regional press are continually raising his profile, attracting the attention of national print sources. Stories and awards in Guitar Player, Performing Songwriter, Acoustic Guitar and Music Connection are examples of his growing respect in the Industry. As well, performances at Bostons NEMO Conference and the famed Telluride Bluegrass Festival have added to his draw. All of this bodes well for the hot young musician. Benfield has been touring regularly since 2000 when he released his first solo record after leaving the now-defunct groove/funk band Maya. The record, titled Living A Dream gained national attention for a moving tribute to murder victim Matthew Shepard. His second album witch featured members of Bonnie Raitt, the Counting Crows and Ani DiFrancos band received critical acclaim and heavy-rotation airplay at college and community stations across America. Currently, Benfield is composing and recording material for his next album, due out next year.
