(PRWEB) August 23, 2003 -- Now then, now then, npower the energy and essential home services for Yorkshire, is looking to 'fix it' for the best Jimmy Savile lookalike in the land.

As sponsors of the npower Test at Headingley this month (Aug 21 - 25) npower is asking the best Sir Jim lookalikes to please stand up on Saturday 23 August, which is fun fancy dress day.

The search was launched at Headingley by Yorkshire Academy players Richard Pyrah (20), Peiter Swanepoel (26) and Scott Richardson (25), who donned trademark white locks, jingle jangle jewellery and funky shades in honour of the Great Yorkshire icon and the King of Cool.

Commented Sue Newton, PR manager for npower in Yorkshire and the North East:

"Jimmy Savile is a hugely popular figure who holds great appeal for sports fans. This initiative is all about showing the wide appeal of Test cricket and how much fun it is as a spectator sport. We're hoping for a great turnout of fans in fancy dress on Saturday 23rd, not to mention a sea of Sir Jims!

"The npower promo girls will be on the lookout for the best Jims and will select a winner from the best twelve from the crowds. The most outstanding lookalike will receive 100 cash, a year's supply of Yorkshire Tea, an official trophy and the chance to meet the man himself, the one and only Jimmy Savile, who will be there to present the prize."

Cricket is a huge revenue generator for the Yorkshire region when a Test Match is being played at Headingley, with a predicted 4million** cash injection to the local economy. The Test is expected to pull in over 80,000 fans with visitors spending around 35 - 75 per day which is great news for the region as a whole.

To help budding Jimmy's achieve the best possible likeness, npower has provided the following hints and tips:

1. Either grow your hair in a long mullet style and then dye it white or just buy a whiter-than-white wig in the classic mullet style

2. Buy some funky threads. Tracksuit/shellsuit combinations with luminous colours are a MUST!

3. Buy or make a comically large cigar in which a lot of your charisma and style lies

4. Wear lots of gold jewellery - rings, chains and medallions

5. Learn the language! "Now then, now then", "boys and girls", "jewellery, jewellery, jewellery" and "How's about this then." Also, practice random grunts along the lines of "UH-UH-UH-UH-UH-UH."

6. Make sentences using the words above. NOTE! YOU MUST JIGGLE YOUR
CIGAR BETWEEN TWO FINGERS WHILE DOING THIS

7. For the crowning glory make or obtain a "Jim Fixed It For Me" medal

The transformation is now complete. You are now then now then THE man!
