New publication for educators: Focus on Inclusive Education, to be published by the Association for Childhood Education International (ACE)

Contact: Gina Hoagland, 800.423.3563

Olney, MD (PRWEB) August 21, 2003 -- In September 2003, the Association for Childhood Education International (ACEI) will publish the first issue of Focus on Inclusive Education, a newsletter that covers a broad range of topics concerning equal access to education. Contributors will address special needs associated with physical, cognitive, cultural, linguistic, religious, and family diversity.

The first issue will contain articles on transdisciplinary teaming and the reauthorization of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act.

ACEI member Jerry Aldridge, Professor of Early Childhood Education at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and the editor of Focus on Inclusive Education, says the newsletter will demonstrate how the integration of different methodologies is key to providing equal access to education for all children.

Teachers are faced with the challenge of educating many kinds of 'differently abled students-who each learn at a different level---in one classroom, at the same time," Aldridge explains. ACEIs Focus on Inclusive Education not only delivers strategies for teaching students of mixed learning abilities, but also communicates the importance of including everyone in 21st-century classrooms."

The newsletter has been developed in response to requests for information about the subject. Its an opportunity for educators and administrators to share experiences and proven teaching strategies," Aldridge says, and to follow the issues and legislation that guide the teaching profession."

A one-year subscription (4 issues) of Focus on Inclusive Education is available to ACEI members for $15 US and to non-members for $30 US by calling 1.800.423.3563.
