K & G Enterprises Loses Hillbilly Napkin Web Site in Shared Hosting Fight. Site reset temporarily in another K & G Enterprise site.

K & G Enterprises of Modesto, California, had it's Hillbilly Dinner Napkin web site thrown off the web in a disagreement between the hosting company, a web host reseller and the actual web space provider. The domain name, www.hillbillynapkin.com sits in K & G Enterprises name, however, it is not accessible.

During October 2002, K & G Enterprises put its first web site up, www.hillbillynapkin.com on the web using 1st-for-hosting.com as the web host. 1st-for-hosting.com, an UK based web-hosting provider resold space from Peel Inc. During July of 2003, 1st-for-hosting.com severed relations with Peel Inc. and websites hosted by 1st-for-hosting.com on Peel Inc. servers were subsequently disabled with no warning to the subscribers. Email communications between K & G Enterprises and 1st-for-hosting.com revealed that due to the legal language of the termination agreement, 1st-for-hosting.com was not allowed to notify any of their previous customers. Peel Inc. failed to notify K & G Enterprises and refuses to answer e-mail inquiries.

Kent Johnson, owner of K & G Enterprises states, " I was pretty green to the Internet world when I started The Hillbilly Dinner Napkin Site and against all the well known advice, I allowed my host to register my domain name. Now the domain sits in limbo and I can not get any response to my inquiries." Johnson also stated that the Hillbilly Dinner Napkin site was not profitable, but was gaining in popularity and sales during the 2003 holiday season were expected to be modest. The site has been resurrected at www.discount-leather.net/Hillbilly for the time being. "I hope to get the domain back in October when it comes up for renewal," Johnson stated, "We had sold quite a few of these novelty napkins to chili cook-off locations this summer and at least one was sold as a prop on for a Comedy Central pilot show. It was really picking up steam and visitors were coming into the site regularly."
