PhoeniX invests in MST software

PhoeniX develops software for Micro System Technology to provide the bridge between the design team and the real cleanroom environment. The software is intended to facilitate the communication from design into production and back.

August, 2003 -- PhoeniX develops software for Micro System Technology to provide the bridge between the design team and the real cleanroom environment. The software is intended to facilitate the communication from design into production and back.

Developing software modules that span from numerical solutions until database systems for cleanroom management, PhoeniX will introduce its first products soon. The products include various applications in MST field, offering the customers to reduce the operational cost by enhancing the efficiency in process management.

PhoeniX employs two co-founders of BBV Software and BBV Design, Jan Bos and Arjen Bakker, as the principal engineers. PhoeniX also employs former employees of both companies. BBV Software and BBV Design specialized in providing the software tools and design services in the planar waveguide field. BBV Software was known world-wide for providing flexible design tools.

The acquisition of BBV Software and BBV Design by Kymata in the year 2000, and later with Alcatel Optronics in the year 2001, led to a further professionalisation of the software in order to meet the high demands posed by this leading manufacturer of planar optical devices. The experience gained by being part of this company allows for the next generation software tools for MST to be launched. These tools will link the production process to the design process to further reduce the design/production-cycle.

Acquiring the former development team of Arjen Bakker and Jan Bos into PhoeniX leverages the solid expertise required to build software, which leads to a considerable reduction in the time to market for the PhoeniX product line. All of the employed engineers had been working together for years developing the OlympIOs software. By having this experienced and well-integrated team, PhoeniX is ready to launch their products with a solid technical back-up.

As a total team, PhoeniX has experienced application engineers, software developers and MST designers in-house. Our strategy is to actively search for key partnerships with universities and companies in the MST area.

PhoeniX will be present at COMS 2003 to introduce itself to the MST community.
