The expected passage of planet Nibiru, also known as the 12th planet and Planet X, is a theory based upon the return of a large, red planet to our part of the solar system. Much of this information is based upon ancient Sumerian historians. Reportedly Nibiru was home to a race of beings (human in appearance) that were prone to war.

This planet is said to return to our solar system very 3,600 years. According to Zacharia Sitchin, this time span of 3,600 years is called on Shar, which to the people of Nibiru is one year, but on earth it is the equivalent of 3,600 years. Much of what Sitchin puts forth in this book has been translated from ancient Sumerian clay tablets and cylinder seals which can readily be found in museums all over the world. As a result, he offers strong evidence of the validity of such a belief.

Reportedly the last time the planet passed by the earth was during the Exodus from Egypt. Sitchin contends that the Biblical account of the rivers running red with blood was the result of Nibiru's pass near earth and the blood-like coloring of the rivers was actually the result of the red dust from Nibiru landing in the water on our planet.

Some are predicting that the 12th Planet will return, making its pass between the earth and the sun sometime between now and 2012. It is said that the earth will be overwhelmed by the gravitational influence of the 12th Planet and the earth will, for a three day period, stop rotating completely. This event, according to many, is the same event described in the Bible, by the Hopi Indian Legends, and the Mayan Epics. This is when the earth, on one side will turn dark and the moon will be red with blood. The sun, also, will turn red with blood, as a result of the red dust coming off the Nibiru planet.
