Leadership within MPI and other Organizations
Ann Godi, founder and president of Benchmarc360°, has been appointed to the International Board of Meeting Planners International (MPI) for a three year term. With more than 19,000 members in 60 countries, MPI is the leading global community shaping and defining the future of the meeting and event industry. In addition to Anns leadership at MPI, she serves on the board and executive committee of Hospitality Helping Hands and is a member of the Meetings Industry Council (MIC).
Recognized for a Lifetime of Achievement
Connie Bergeron, vice president of Site Selection for Benchmarc360°, has recently been awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Georgia Chapter of MPI (GaMPI). Connie, a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP), joined Benchmarc360° in 1999 after 22 years with Sheraton and two years with interstate Hotels. Connie served GaMPI as board member, president, vice president of education, and chair of the CMP study group. Connie teaches for the University of Georgia (UGA) on site selection and contract negotiation. Since 2000, she has served on the Advisory Board that created UGAs first course in the Conventions and Meeting Planning program.
Elected President of one of MPIs Largest Chapters
Eddie Potter, vice president of the team that customizes solutions for Benchmarc360°s international, national and regional clients, has been elected president of the Georgia Chapter of MPI (GaMPI), the fourth largest chapter of the worlds largest hospitality organization. Eddie is a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) whose experience includes careers in both meeting and association management. Most recently Eddie was director of meetings for an association with over 33,000 members. He began his hospitality management career in the hotel industry, working for Sheraton, Hilton and Hyatt Hotels.
Elected Meeting Partner of the Year by Georgias National Speakers Association
Gail Solomon, managing director of Guidelines-Atlanta, Inc. a division of Benchmarc360° was recognized for her vision in creating the Meetings Industry Council. MIC is a coalition of industry associations working together for common goals and objectives. Gail was the force behind the creation of MIC and has chaired it for the last eighteen months during which the number of active organizations has significantly increased.
